Lecturer in Popular Music and Recording.

I studied music at the University of Natal, Durban South Africa and Music Technology at York University UK.

Interests and research areas include:

  • Music Technology and Sound Recording
  • Computer Programming (in C) for Music Applications
  • WWW and CGI programming (Perl)
  • African Music
  • Computer Games (Quake III page).

Engineering, programming, mixing various albums in Italy and the UK including Felema, "Old Blue Balls is Back", recorded in Durban, South Africa, early 1998. Felema ~ Real Audio or Mp3.

Download a working demo program of AURAL - the Aural Perception Program for the Atari ST. (Currently be ported to Wintel.)

Various articles on Zimbabwean music, technology and club music including an on-line article co-written for the Journal of Urban Labour and Leisure: "Boom Booom Net Radio".

By the way, I play the Mbira dza Vadzimu. If anyone in the Manchester area plays this instrument E-Mail me a greeting and maybe we can get together and play sometime. Obviously I'm having difficulty in finding another mbira-ist in this country.
